Equality and Health Inequalities Impact & Risk Assessments (EHIIRAs) are an assessment of our local population and/or our workforce - and in particular those with protected characteristics, those from vulnerable groups or groups experiencing health inequalities.
An EHIIRA shows whether a planned service provides equal patient access and experience. It combines two assessments consisting of equality and human rights. This enables the ICB to show due regard to the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty. This ensures that consideration is given prior to any policy or commissioning decisions made by the Integrated Care Board that may affect equality and human rights.
