“The Clinical Assurance Sub Committee (CASC) is a sub-committee of the ICB Strategic Commissioning Committee. The CASC meets monthly to review and approve new or updated Clinical Commissioning Policies, Guidelines, Statements, Pathways and Service developments to ensure that the right treatment is provided to the right patient at the right time.  The CASC membership includes a variety of clinical and managerial ICB representatives.  The CASC responsibilities ensure that developments:
• seek to improve the health outcomes for the ICS population and reduce inequalities
• are safe, insight informed, high quality, fair, equitable, sustainable, cost effective and evidence-based
• have involved relevant system partners , clinicians/practitioners and patients and public where appropriate
